By using Owo Planner ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Owo Planner is

Owo Planner is a free, web-based personal budget planning tool designed for Nigerian earners. It provides budget building, expense tracking, financial health scoring, savings projections, and AI-powered financial guidance.

2. Not financial advice

Owo Planner provides general financial guidance, not professional financial advice. The tool, including its AI advisor, offers suggestions based on general principles and Lagos cost-of-living data. It does not replace the advice of a licensed financial advisor, accountant, or investment professional.

You should not make major financial decisions (investments, debt restructuring, property purchases) solely based on information from Owo Planner. Always consult a qualified professional for significant financial decisions.

3. Your account

You may use Owo Planner without creating an account (data stored locally in your browser) or with a free account (data synced to the cloud).

If you create an account, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate account information
  • Keeping your password secure
  • All activity under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or show signs of abuse.

4. Your data

You own your financial data. We do not claim any ownership over your budget information, expense logs, or other content you enter into Owo Planner. Owo Planner publishes the Open Financial Standard so you can export and move your data anytime. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' data
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service
  • Use automated tools to access the Service without permission (excluding the official MCP server with a valid token)
  • Abuse the AI advisor (e.g., submitting harmful, illegal, or unrelated content)

6. AI advisor disclaimer

Owo AI is powered by Gemini (Google) with Claude (Anthropic) as fallback. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated advice may contain errors, outdated information, or suggestions that do not fully account for your personal circumstances. AI advice should always be verified before acting on it.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep Owo Planner available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or technical issues. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime.

8. Free service

Owo Planner is currently free. We reserve the right to introduce premium features in the future. Core budgeting features will remain free. If pricing changes affect you, we will notify you in advance.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Owo Planner and its founder shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, financial losses resulting from acting on information or advice provided by the tool or its AI features.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
